Breaches of this policy will be met with disciplinary action, including potential dismissal, and our relationships with non-compliant individuals or organisations will be terminated. Weald Computer Systems seeks excellence in every aspect of our business and strives to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical business practice. We are committed to conducting our business in a lawful manner and this includes engaging with our suppliers to ensure that they share our high standards. We fully support the objective of the Modern Slavery Act of 2015, which requires businesses to set out what steps they have taken during the financial year to ensure that modern slavery is not occurring in their supply chains and in their own organisation.
This policy applies to all persons working for the College or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives, and business partners. This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and the College may amend it at any time.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Weald Computer Systems has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
To ensure that the wider Weald Computer Systems service offering is in accordance with the direction of the policy on aspects of Modern Slavery, Weald Computer Systems has placed a flow-down obligation on all suppliers of services and goods whereby the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act are a contractual obligation. This will ensure that any future statements made by Weald Computer Systems are supported by the provision of relevant facts, information, and accounts from our supply chain so that Weald Computer Systems can be confident of zero child and forced labour use within our supply chains. Weald Computer Systems shall take responsibility for this statement which will be reviewed and updated as appropriate.

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide briefings to our Directors and employees.
Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct. The College may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.
